New Year's Eve!

We may have started a New Year's tradition - playing the Wii. Since our house is so tiny and some of my family was in town for the big wedding and we wanted to spend time with our friends - we went to my work for our party! It's the perfect place - lots of room, comfy couches, toys for the kids, and a kitchen. We hooked up the Wii, spread out all our munchies and played card games. We rung in the New Year more than once and all headed home about 11:00 pm. Don't worry though - I rung in the New Year laying on my bed reading one of Stehenie Meyer's books. No better way to start a new year!! To all those who party pooped out and decided not to come - you missed out on some fun times!

Welcome to the Family Janie!!

My "little" brother, Jeremy, is getting married!! He is marrying Janie on January 2nd, 2008. We LOVE her!! Stacey and I originally got to meet her early 2007 when we went down to Provo and had lunch with them. So now we spent today helping them move into their new apartment. They are both BYU students and had to be out of their single living apartments before they were married. So Jeremy borrowed our air mattress (poor chap) and moved into their Wymount apartment with all of his and Janie's stuff. They put up a couple of decorations and here they are showing one of them off. Aren't they so cute??

Once again Brian worked this Christmas so we headed to Idaho early. Santa came to see us! He told a story and handed out a gift for each person. The kids were so excited! I got a scarf and mittens and Brian a flashlight. We did the gift exchange for the adults. In Brian's family everyone brings a "white elephant" gift. The youngest picks first, up to the oldest. However, you can steal a gift someone else has. When your gift has been stolen, you can pick another or steal. This year was hilarious. There was a pair of slippers and a red neck Santa hat flying around. We brought Canadian candy for ours and whoever got it, would eat it until it was stolen. The couples would work together to get what they wanted back from others who stole it. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. We celebrated the December birthday boys with cupcakes. We wanted to spend time with all the family but some of them were at work. So we went to their house and stole their children. We forgot the vehicle we had wasn't going to fit all of us. However, we made it work and it made for a great picture! Brian and I then enjoyed a nice, quiet Christmas at home. Some people felt sad that we weren't going to be with family on Christmas day or have a big dinner, but we were happy hanging out in our jammies all day. Plus, my family was arriving in two days to get ready for Jeremy's wedding.
Merry Christmas everyone!!
