Idaho trip

On the way home from Canada, we stopped in Idaho for a couple of days.

Gideon enjoyed the road trip by playing with his feet (aka - taking his socks off.)

He loved the piano at Robin's house. It was the perfect height for him to play. He would even dance and sing while he played. My kid's got talent.

Here he is playing with the push toys Grandma and Grandpa made him.

Gideon's newest adventure is to walk around with something on his head. While in Idaho, this bucket was perfect for the challenge. And hilarious!

Goodbye snuggles with Grandpa and Grandma. Gideon slept the worst ever (actually only about four hours of sleep) and threw up while we were there. We were all ready to get back home.

We stopped so Uncle Cody could finally meet Gideon. They bonded over electronics.

I was too busy running after Gideon to take many pictures. But here we are hanging out at Grandma and Grandpa Morris's house. There is always t.v., food, games and great company.

Christmas in Canada

We drove to my parent's house in Canada all in one day. We planned to leave at 4:30 am, but we hit the snooze button of the alarm when it went off and left at 5:00am instead. I figured Gideon would fall back asleep and sleep for a few hours. I probably should have realized this is my Gideon we are talking about here and this kid isn't much of a sleeper. I told him numerous times on the trip that sleeping is the best way to pass the time in the car, but he didn't listen. Aside from limited sleep, he actually did great on the trip. He watched movies and played with toys. He only got fussy the last hour, at which point I pulled out some chocolate and marshmallows and he did great after that. I had a list of ideas to entertain him in the car. I only had to use junk food. Not too shabby!

I did get a teeny nap when Gideon crashed for an entire 1/2 hour.

While in Canada, it was SO cold. Like bitter cold. In fact, it was so cold that the gear shifter had ice on it.

Accomodations were swanky. Gideon had his own room. That was heavenly. Especially because he was teething and slept very little.

In his Christmas outfit.

Gideon wasn't quite tall enough to reach the top of the table. He didn't mind though. So long as he could get his food, he was good to go.

Christmas Eve dinner. We always have rice made with milk and spices. And we get to eat cookies with our dinner. I thought that was SO cool when I was a kid.

Gideon loved to play in the kitchen. He had tons of toys downstairs to figure out, but he would just climb right back up the stairs and play in the kitchen.

The tupperware drawer. He loved the strainer.

And this basket in the corner. I don't think it stayed in the corner longer than two minutes the whole time we were there.
I LOVE this picture. My dad is so amazing with children.

Christmas morning. In my family, we always lined up in the kitchen youngest to oldest. The door was closed to the living room and some of my favorite memories are the funny things we did while waiting for that door to finally open. We, of course, did the tradition this year but I was on the other side of the door taking pictures!! The perks of being a mom. P.S. Aren't his Christmas jammies adorable???

We set up this car tower so Gideon could see it right when he left the kitchen. However, to the right of the kitchen in the computer room. Gideon LOVED the computer room and because of that, often found the door shut tight.  Well, Christmas morning Gideon walked out of the kitchen, saw the door was open and headed right for the computer room. Skip the toys and gifts when the computer room is open for exploration!

My mom made him this AMAZING quiet book. She even designed the pages herself. As you can tell, Gideon loves it.

He took it right over to Grandpa so he could read it with him.

Daddy helped Gideon open all his presents this year.

New blocks from cousin Kale!! Thank you, Kale!!

Playing with Uncle Greg! Last time Greg and I spent Christmas at home with just the two of us and Mom and Dad, Dad and I couldn't wait any longer and woke Greg and Mom up. This year, we just had Gideon do the dirty work.

The traditional Grandparent picture.

Gideon LOVED Grandma's slippers.

 Playing with his little piano.

 Sharing with Grandpa.

Gideon loved to "hide" behind this curtain and run out of it. All. Day. Long.

Gideon had his first poutine at the Red Dog Diner. Best Canadian food ever. He loved it.

Getting ready to head out. Gotta love that bed head!

Hanging out with Grandpa.

 Playing pat-a-cake with Grandma.

The time went by way too quickly. We made great memories and stocked up on Canadian candy. Perfect trip.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Having Fun

For my work's Christmas party this year, I lent them my roaster oven to cook potatoes in and keep them warm. When I brought it home, Gideon played inside it for over an hour. It was awesome!

He would switch sides, have his feet in, his feet out, put the cord in, put the cord out...

And get in and out, in and out, in and out. My favorite part. Gotta love the bum in the air as he goes head first out.
That same day Gideon got ahold of an entire Hershey kiss. He loved it! Not sure how much he actually got in his mouth though.

Christmas Card

This is the Christmas card I sent out this year. It's the first time we have EVER sent out a card. If you didn't get one, don't be sad. I didn't order that many and they basically went to immediate family. That's why I'm posting it. So everyone can enjoy it. Aren't Gideon's bright blue eyes amazing??

Christmas Gifts

We are headed to Canada for Christmas and realized there won't be enough room for mine and Brian's gifts in the car. So we exchanged gifts today.

We didn't take an actual picture of my gift, but here I am "opening" it. Brian wrapped it with the trunk of his car. HaHa! He got me a shark vacuum since the vacuum we currently own is as expensive to fix as to buy a new one.

Brian got turtle bay headphones for his (stupid) video games so I don't have to listen to the game anymore. Batteries for his controller that recharge so I don't have to buy 500 batteries anymore. And a gift card to the gun store to do whatever he wants with. He really wants a holster for the gun he got for Father's Day.

Lucky Charms Thief

I kept finding lucky charms cereal in various places in my house. I started to think I was really messy but had no idea I was or that Brian was eating after I go to bed at night. Then today I discovered a little thief. Mystery solved.

First he gets into those unlocked kitchen cabinets and pulls the sack out of the box.

Then he walks into the living room eating while he goes.

Then he walks around the living room, taking handfuls of cereal as he searches for the perfect snacking spot.

At last he settles down and eats to his hearts content. He must do this when I'm at work. It's the first time I've seen him do it. Silly boy!

Mac n' Cheese

This is Gideon's first time eating macaroni and cheese. Not that exciting, but the moment was really cute. See, when he was getting to the last of the noodles in his bowl, he tipped the bowl up to his mouth and started patting the bowl to get all the noodles out. He even licked his hands when he was done. I guess he liked it!
