Easter Sunday

From the Easter egg hunt the day before, Gideon remembered these eggs have candy in them. So he was all over opening them up. That crazy Easter bunny didn't refill the eggs though, much to Gideon's disappointment.

Sara spent the weekend with us. We love having her come! Gideon shared one candy with her. What a nice kid.

Gideon checking out his basket. He got a mini-magnadoodle, some books, a coloring book and twistable crayons (because Brian can't stand Gideon eating crayons when he colors.)

Grabbing candy from Mommy and Sara's baskets. His didn't have any candy in it.

All ready for church. Gideon is still in love with plastic eggs but continued to disappoint himself by expecting to find something inside.

This year, I had my sister, Stacey, make my two guys matching ties!! I LOVE it!! Aren't they so cute? Thank you, Stacey!!!
Our little family.

Happy Easter Everyone!!!

Easter Egg Hunt

Here is the Easter Egg hunting crew: top row - Tatum, Gavin and Riley, bottom row - Gideon, Quinn and Cayson. It's so fun Gideon is big enough to hunt eggs this year!!

We didn't have to tell this kiddo what to do. He ran right over and started picking up the eggs. When he picked up the first one, he said, "ooooooo" as he held it up.

The only trick was he couldn't figure out how to hold more that two eggs at a time.

He happily put them in this grocery sack (I forgot his cute Easter bucket) until he discovered there was something inside.

Check out our friend's back yard! It's HUGE!! The other kiddos eggs were hidden all over the back yard.
And we ended the evening by jumping on the trampoline with Quinn.

P.J. Boy

This is my most favorite picture of Gideon. It's the first day of Spring break and we are chillin' in our p.j.'s. He is one happy man playing with his toothbrush and medicine syringe. I love being with him in the mornings. I don't get many mornings with him. He is, by far, the happiest in the mornings. He jabbers away, while I get ready, following me around the house. He sings songs and dances to the music on the radio. He giggles with delight while chasing the cats around the house. I used to love sleeping in. Now I love mornings with this little man.

Most days when Gideon and I go for a walk, we end up at the playground. He has recently learned to go down the slide all by himself. We invited Daddy to come with us to check it out.

Gideon showed off all his skills, of course.

I couldn't part with any of these videos. So you get all three.

Pots and Pans

Gideon finally loves playing with pots and pans. And, he plays with them so I can make dinner in peace. Unless of course I need one of "his" pans, and then some issues are involved.

His favorite is to pick one lid, try it on all the pots and pans. Grab another lid and do the same thing. Over and over again.

I only have to open the oven drawer and he grabs out the ones he wants. He then drags each and every one of them into the living room to play. So cute!

New Chair

I saw this cute chair at Walmart and had to get it. We are very excited for summer and spending all day outside in our house. We go visit with Grandma and Grandpa Gwynn across the street and they enjoy the sunshine in their chairs. So now Gideon can join them. Not that he sits very much. But it's the idea that counts!

I think he likes it!

Feeding his hair

Gideon loves to feed his hair. This happens at every meal. It doesn't matter what the food it, yogurt included, Gideon always feels it's necessary to make sure some of it ends up on his head. And he loves to spread his food all over the floor. I'm still thinking I like this stage better than the "I'm going to drop everything within three seconds of getting it and cry when someone doesn't pick it up" stage.

Spaghetti Face

This kid LOVES spaghetti! It's one of the few food items I can get him to eat all the time. And boy does he get messy. He often needs a bath after eating all those noodles. Spaghetti sauce is down his shirt, all over his pants, in his hair and often up his nose.

When Gideon is done, he likes to lick the sauce off the bowl and makes sure every single noodle is eaten. Love that spaghetti face!

Wheeler Farm

I'm so tired of winter and staying inside all day. So I convinced Brian to go to Wheeler Farm, a fun farm where you can go see animals for free. Gideon learned to say "moo" from our chilly trip.

There weren't many people there, so we got to pet a horse. Gideon LOVED it! He thought it was really funny when the horse sniffed my hand. We also saw pigs that were fighting over a rock, tons of chickens, ducks, roosters, geese, sheep, turkeys and I can't remember what else.

When we had seen all the animals and we still wanted more fun, we headed over to the playground and went down the slides. It was a fun family Saturday!

Video Games

Gideon LOVES the xbox remote. He knows how to turn it on all by himself and then he excitedly waits for it to come all the way on. Next, he goes crazy, pushing all the buttons to see where it takes him. It's quite entertaining. But when Daddy comes home, these two boys "fight" over the remote. The newest solution is to snuggle together in the chair and Gideon will jab at the buttons while Daddy tries to use the remote. Mommy just giggles.

Hanging out at Mom's work

So, I have to do a million things this semester to keep my job. Here is the list:

Go back to college for one class (thank goodness I'm doing that online - costs about $800)
Get an official FBI background check (the third one in six years of teaching...seriously - costs $75)
Meet with the ECE lady to go over my transcripts so I can get my Early Childhood Endorsement
Attend a language arts core class
Attend two math core classes
Attend a suicide prevention class and do another hour of class online
Take TWO Praxis tests (big, ugly overwhelming teacher knowledge tests)
Complete an EYE portfolio (shows what I'm doing in my classroom to meet student needs)
Have four observations by my Principal
Meet with my Principal to prove I did all above mentioned and fill out paperwork
Pay $75 to apply for my "upgrade"
Oh, and keep teaching and keeping up with regular life.

I had to drag poor Gideon to the District office to get my fingerprints. My fingerpads were worn down (that's what they told me) so it took almost 45 minutes to read all my fingers. So annoying. Glad I could pay $75 for that. Gideon was not a happy man. He wanted out and to run free. The secretary gave him a sucker. His first one ever. As you can see from the above pictures, he wasn't exactly sure what to do with it. Oh, this kid makes me laugh!

All ready for church

This is my favorite church outfit of Gideon's. I had to take a few shots before he completely outgrew that adorable tie.
I could only get him to pose by giving him grapes to eat. He is seriously the cutest kid ever.
