Gideon's BFF

This awesome new family, the Mechams, moved in at the end of our block. We are very alike and have tons of fun together. They also have one little guy, McKade, just like us. They will not be in the same church class but they will be in the same school year! Yeah! I always wanted Gideon to have a cute friend he grew up with before going to school. These two play together quite hilariously. This was one night after we went out for dinner and frogurt.

Driving

video
When Daddy comes home from work, Gideon runs to the door and begs for Brian to take him outside so he can drive his car. So adorable! He dances, turns the music really loud, turns the flashers on and off and recently learned he can throw himself against the wheel to make the horn go off.

He LOVES his blankies

video
This is how Gideon rolls with his blankies. He doesn't always carry them with him, but when he does, they must go everywhere. My favorite is when he goes up and down the stairs with them. Hilarious!

Escapee

Daddy doesn't see ALL the times Gideon tries to escape into the "cat" area of the kitchen. So he took some pictures of the little escapee.

I seriously think it's hilarious that Gideon stopped and posed for pictures. Brian said he even waved bye-bye to him. And yes, he has a black eye. When he always has to run, his feet don't remember to keep up all the time.

And now he's back to some serious business here. Poor cats, we only have the gates up so they can get under them. But now we have to have them so low to the ground, no one can get through.

Mommy's Helper

Mommy decided to make Circus Animal Cookie Truffles she found on pinterest. Oh my yumminess. Gideon decided to not take a nap and therefore HAD to help me make them. (On a side note, I'm still waiting for this kid to sleep regularly.) Gideon's help usually constitutes of him eating whatever I'm making. Or dropping the spoon on the floor and then spreading whatever the batter may be all over the floor. Or throwing things off the cupboard. Or screaming because I won't give him the spoon. At least he thinks he's helping, right??

Today he enjoyed eating the chocolate I was dipping the truffles in. Don't worry, it was all sanitary. He had his own bowl. Ah this kid, he makes me laugh.

Bottoms Up

I like to go walking everyday so our stroller stays out in our kitchen, taking up precious space. It's turned into a new toy for Gideon. He has learned how to crawl into the stroller and how to get out. Not so great when I'm trying to buckle him in and he doesn't want that. But awesome because I can now tell him to get in and he does just that. But his favorite thing to do, is crawl into the bottom of the stroller.

He just lays there, all squished up, and giggles. Then he climbs out and does it all over again.

I had to include this picture because he is just so dang cute!!

New Garbage Disposal

We had to get a new garbage disposal. Boo! Those things are pricey. At least it's lasted us all this time in our house so far. Brian found a website that showed him how to test the disposal to see if it really needed to be replaced. What a smart man I married. Too bad the answer was time to replace. Brian shopped around for a good one at a decent price. Then he installed it and life was back to normal in our kitchen. Thanks, honey!

Dinner Time Habits

Gideon's favorite thing to do while eating currently is feed his hair. At least that's what I keep telling myself he's doing. Someday, he will understand that feeding his hair happens by chewing his food, but until then, here are a few pictures of this silly kid. Can you see the strawberry on his head?

Here is another view. Aren't his smiles the best???

Daddy's Motorcycle

Gideon and I were outside playing the other day and he really wanted in the garage. We were about to leave, so I opened the door. He headed directly to Daddy's motorcycle. He tried for several minutes to get on it. He didn't give up. He just kept trying and trying and trying. So cute. I finally put him on the motorcycle and sent Daddy the picture.

Xbox Remote

Gideon giggles with delight every time he gets his hands on the xbox remote. Daddy freaks out but mommy totally lets him play with it. He randomly pushes all the buttons and gets very excited whenever it does something. It's quite entertaining.

I love how he is a picture poser now! He cracked this look as soon as he saw the camera.

Little Writer

Gideon loves to write. Or perhaps its draw?? Either way, give this boy some paper and a pen (it MUST be a pen) and he is a happy camper.

He even makes little noises while hard at work. It's the longest I've ever seen him sit for anything!

He also switches positions many, many times while making his masterpiece.

New Move-ins

We had some new neighbors move into our yard. At first, they were always on our garage roof. Now we find them in our back and front yard. Gideon loves them. He talks to them and runs around after them while they quack and run away.

New Hiding Spot

Gideon has a new hiding spot. I originally had toys on this end table, but eventually figured out there was no point since he would take them all off and crawl in here.

He will bring his own toys or just sit in there and giggle until you find him.

And on a side note, doesn't he look so handsome in that shirt??

Croup and Popsicles

Gideon has croup. And a nasty sore throat. Mommy is struggling to stay awake after all these long nights of being awake for hours. So she stopped to get a Dr. Pepper. Gideon got a popsicle.

He LOVED it!
I couldn't take Gideon in to see our regular pediatrician so I went to whoever was available. We sat in the waiting room for 1/2 hour before I asked the receptionist how much longer. She called the Dr.'s nurse. She forgot about us and would be right out. We waited another 15 minutes before she finally came out to get us. Then we sat in the room for 20 minutes. By this time, I was beyond annoyed. Why aren't pediatrician offices more child friendly??

I was sure he had rsv, but the doctor told me it was croup. He didn't have a barky croup cough at all, instead it was full of phlem and deep sounding. But she was positive and wouldn't test him for rsv. Let's just say, I'm not a fan of this doctor. At all. T. he nurse gave him steroid medicine and made an appointment for us to come back for an oxygen check and more medicine tomorrow.

Which was followed by another night (five in a row) of very little sleep. On the way home from the doctor's office, I was beyond exhausted, frustrated and irritated at the world and therefore just driving without focusing. So of course, I get pulled over for speeding. Awesome! Not. I started crying because by this time, I was done with everything. The officer told me crying didn't work on him. I told him he was rude and my crying had to do with the fact I haven't slept in a week, my son is sick and nothing is going right lately. So thank you anyways for assuming that my life is great and I'm trying to get out of the ticket. I wanted to add, so could you please hurry and give me the ticket. I'm headed home for a nap. But I didn't press my luck that far. He ended up giving me a ticket for 5 miles over the speed limit. Just what I always wanted to spend $90 on. Dear Health, please come find us and stay for a very, very, very long time. Love one exhausted mommy.
