Crazy

When ever Gideon gets THIS crazy. You know he is definitely ready to go to bed. And since I speak Gideon-ese, I can tell you he says, "Let me out!" and the beginning of the video. When I ask him to say "please," he signs it. So cute. I love this crazy kid of mine!

Outside with Daddy

One Sunday afternoon Daddy and Gideon were playing outside while Mommy was making dinner. Daddy took a whole bunch of pictures. Here are my favorites:

In the front sitting on the flower bed.

Seeing if Mom's keys will work on his playhouse.

He loves to open and close the blinds.

Playing in his jammies.

Sitting in the grass...please note he still has my keys.

The Zoo

We bought a season's pass to the zoo for this year!! I'm so excited. It will be a great way to get outdoors and get some exercise, all while entertaining Gideon. Win-win! We went for the first time with our Fowler friends on Saturday. Gideon loved hanging out with the big kids.

Here we are waiting for the bird show to start.

The big group of us. Riley, Wyatt, Tim, Crystal, Gavin. Me, Gideon, Cayson, Tatum and Quinn.

Brian loves this picture because Gideon's hand is on my leg.

Playing peek-a-boo. One of Gideon's current obsessions.

Once the show started, Gideon broke down. He was upset because he had to stay by us, which he had to do before the show started but now it bothered him. He wanted everything he couldn't have, such as this tube of sunscreen. When we wouldn't give it to him, he screamed at the top of his lungs. Let's just say, lots of spectators weren't watching the bird show. He even slammed his head, on purpose, into the lovely brick floor. Awesome!

The birds were really cool though. They flew right over our heads. And when I say right over, I mean inches from our faces. So cool! Gideon was quite funny with the rest of the animals. I would be pointing and trying to show him and he was just looking around. Then suddenly, he would see the animal, point and be so excited. Adorable. Yeah for spending lots of time there this year! Our season passes also include zoo lights at Christmas. Happy me!

Check it out!

These burgers have lettuce, grown in my very own garden, on them!!! I just needed to take a small moment to brag. I'm so excited! I even called my Dad to tell him. I knew he would be so proud of me and my love of gardening. And he was!

Gideon the Gardener

The best part about gardening is my little helper. Gideon loves to be outside!! Like all little boys do. I gave him one of my broken pots full of dirt and a spoon and he is one happy guy. His favorite is to fling dirt. He laughs and laughs as the dirt soars. He also loves to transfer dirt around from one container to another. I asked him one time not to touch the plants and I haven't had to since. And yes, I do hope that good luck continues this entire summer. I love having a little helper!

My green thumb

Last year I begged and begged and begged for Brian to make me three grow boxes. He got them built but too late for the planting season. We did have zucchini and tomatoes, but that's all. This year though, all my gardening dreams came true!! I got invited to join the local greenhouse where you can start growing your plants in March. I planted my little heart out. This weekend I transplanted everything, except the cold crops I already planted in the boxes. Love my garden!!!!

This box has peas, beans, roma tomatoes, two types of lettuce, spinach, carrots, beets (which for some reason don't show up in this picture), and radishes. Only one tomato plant is big enough for the cage, but two more will eventually go up. And the radishes are ready to harvest, so I can plant something else in that spot.

This box has brussel sprouts, broccoli, califlower, kolhrabi, green peppers, colored pepper, jalepeno peppers, thai peppers and fresno peppers. The green thing in the corner is a wall of water. It's protecting a pepper that is too small to make it on it's own.

Here are some of my perrenials: strawberries, cilantro and dill.

And my other perennials: oregano and asparagus. Asparagus takes three years of growing before you can harvest it. But then it grows like a weed for 12 - 15 years! This is it's first year. When it first sprouted, it looked exactly like teeny, tiny asparagus. Oh, and don't mind the ripped up black paper. We plan to put rock around the boxes, but that takes money.

The last grow box has zucchini, yellow squash. spaghetti squash, pumpkin, acorn squash, eggplant, butternut squash, cucumbers and one surprise plant. Gideon took out the spoon that said what it was in the greenhouse. We will just have to wait until it grows and see what we've got!!

For the first time EVER...

Gideon fell asleep while eating!!!! Gideon has never randomly fallen asleep. Don't get me wrong, I  put him in his bed awake and he falls asleep. But he has never curled up on the floor and fallen asleep. He has never fallen asleep in his chair. He has never crawled in my lap and passed out. Never fallen asleep on the couch watching tv. EVER! But today, today it happened. Miracle people. Miracle!

Push Toy

This video is for Grandma and Grandpa Morris. They made this cute push toy for Gideon for Christmas. He has always walked it around in the air since getting it. But he finally figured out how to push it along the floor.

Mario Party

Not the best picture but it was what I could do. Gideon was not being photo cooperative. Today we went to cousin Ben's birthday party. It was Mario style and so awesome!

All the boys got homemade Mario hats with their own initial on it!

All the girls got homemade Princess Peach crowns!

Check out that spread! Everything was something from the Mario games. So creative!

Lots of fun Mario games for the kids.

And the birthday boy!!! Happy Birthday, Ben!
