Halloween

This is the amazing pumpkin that Brian carved this year!! When we went to the pumpkin patch he searched all over until a pumpkin spoke to him. And this is what it told him to do. Pretty cool!!

Our Trick o' Treatin' crew! Thanks to Wyatt, we have added three kids to the bunch. One was not picture happy tonight. Avery wore her costume all day, until it was time to get candy. I love three year olds! The big kids ran houses ahead of us, wanting to be adult free. The younger ones ran from house to house. We ended up taking Gideon to every two or three houses the other kids did because his little legs couldn't keep up. He loved doing just what the big kids did! And he would happily take candy from the people at the doors and then invite himself inside their house. Hilarious!

Happy Halloween!

Morris Family Photos

Once again, my amazing sister-in-law, Robin, captured incredible family photos. Check out more of her talent at www.robinspencerphotos.com

My favorite part of the whole group of us??That in virtually every family photo someone is looking at Gideon. Who was quite the center of attention. See him here, facing backwards, with everyone looking at him? What a turkey!

That's better. I think we are all looking here and Gideon isn't throwing too big of a fit.

 My adorable little man!

Eating poisonous flowers.

 Being goofy!

 Playing with Daddy.

 Loving on Momma.

 My favorite family shot.

And the one that would look much better on the family wall!

Thanks, Robin! You always do such an amazing job!

Daddy's shoes

Gideon LOVES to put other people's shoes on and cruise around. He doesn't care whose shoes. Mom, Dad, company...it's all the same to him. I can always tell what he is doing because he giggles followed by a lot of clomp, clomping.

I have a picture, of me, doing exactly the same thing I wanted to post with this picture. But I couldn't find it. I'll have to add it later.

Pumpkin Patch

We headed on over to the pumpkin patch today (finally.) We stopped to visit all the animals first.

Gideon ran and ran and ran (no surprise to anyone who knows him) around all the pumpkins.

He would stop and try to pick up lots of pumpkins. He kept trying to pick up big ones again and again.

Then he discovered he can pick up small ones. After that, he added every single small pumpkin he could pick up to our wheelbarrow. He only came home with one though. And not the one in the picture.

Gideon also kept trying to push the wheelbarrow. It took a few tries but he finally let daddy help and the wheelbarrow finally went somewhere. Very exciting for the little man.

There was a large box full of corn for the kids to play in. Gideon loved it. We love the Peterson Family pumpkin patch! Now it's time to carve those pumpkins.

Trunk or Treat

And this year's costume is....

R2D2!!! I wasn't sure that's what this costume turned out to look like, but lots of people at the trunk or treat knew exactly what he was. So that made me feel better. Figuring out what costume to make or buy this year almost did me in. I just didn't like anything! Nothing was even close to the cuteness of last years penguin. And Gideon isn't really into anything so he gave me no direction. I finally settled on R2D2 for whatever reason. Probably because he needed a costume in less than a week and I just needed to pick something.

So I dusted off my sewing machine and got to work. It was really easy to put together. Brian helped make all the gadgets. Thanks to last year's tutorial on making a hat, that was easy. I have definitely realized that patterns from the store confuse me to no end. But making a pattern? It makes perfect sense to me.

The only sad thing about his hat, I made the first one too small. So I cut out another bigger one. Then I added all the gadgets to the small hat and didn't even know until we were at the trunk or treat and getting Gideon dressed! Bah! And, when it came to sewing on the collar, I had serious issues. I knew what I needed to do, but it took me five times before I finally pinned it correctly. And then I sewed it backwards. Unpicking is so much fun.

Here are Quinn and Gavin, who we went trunk or treating with. Some other costumes I saw and loved were Frankensten, Jack Frost, and a chef. Gavin and Quinn wanted to take Gideon around to get candy. But he wouldn't have anything to do with getting help. He would walk up to the person with candy, and stand sideways to show his treat bag. Then on to the next person.

Our ward doesn't do trunk or treat anymore. Boo! So this was Tim and Crystal's ward. The Bishopric and other members practiced the thriller dance for two months and performed it in the parking lot. It was awesome!

And even though there were tons of cars to go, and more candy waiting, this kid spent his time in the rocks and bushes. I even had to pull him out kicking and screaming to go have dinner. Which by the way, was incredible. There were at least 50 kinds of chili, and so much dessert, it was in another room. I wish we lived in a neighborhood like this one. It's fun to visit with everyone and see everyone's costumes.

Bathtime Bubbles

To say this boy loves bath time is an understatement. I have to plan 30 to 45 minutes for bath time as part of our night routine. There is book reading, pouring water between containers, using his bath squirters, splashing, rolling around, and so much more during each bath.

His newest thing is to just lay in the water. Totally still. Just like this. I think his smile says it all!

Balls

This kid needs more hands. Between the Halloween toys he loves and all his toy balls, he just doesn't have enough room to hold them all. Today he decided the balls were more important.

He carried them around like this for over an hour! Sometimes he would throw them and run after them. Then, he would collect them all up again and hold them tight. Funny boy! Oh and don't mind his outfit. It was the combo of a blow out and laundry day.

Helping Grandpa

Gideon and I were outside playing today when we saw Grandpa leave for a bike ride. After that, he HAD to go see Grandma. So over we headed. When Grandpa got back he told us about a garage sale not far away that had a bike for $5.00!

Grandma Donna, Gideon, and I headed on over there and got the bike for $4.00. After bringing it home, Grandpa helped fix the flat tires and he let Gideon be his helper. Gideon got his very own real tool to use and tried it out all over the bike.

He even wondered on over and "fixed" these wheels in the backyard. He was in heaven and loved every minute of it. Now to wait for Spring when Gideon will be tall enough to ride the bike!

Chattin' with Daddy

Daddy works long days and this little guy loves to call him and usually jabbers away. Today, he ran right over to the stairs, laid down, and talked away. It was too adorable to not capture.

Halloween Loves

We have been getting ready for Halloween around our house. Gideon is in LOVE with this scope. And it actually works and he finds that hilarious. We will be in the car and he will call, "Momma!" When I turn around and he sees me in the scope, he laughs and laughs and laughs.

He also loves this ghost. It lights up and changes colors. He carries it around all day long. He even calls it Spookie. It must eat dinner with us. It is a well loved ghost.

Canada Thanksgiving

This year my mom and dad were able to come down for Olivia's baptism, which happened to be the same weekend as Canada Thanksgiving. So of course we had to celebrate! I made the turkey (which my mom and dad brought from Canada,) the stuffing and brought the corn. Stacey did all the rest and hosted the event. We invited Uncle Pete and Aunt Gail, and cousin Erin. Greg was in town too for the festivities. There were children present, but they ate later. Then Gideon and I headed home for some turkey day naps. Fun times, great food, and the best company ever.

And our amazing turkey carver. He wanted a picture because his friend's were never going to believe what he was doing today!

Olivia's Baptism

I love that my sister and her family moved back to Utah! I wasn't able to attend the last two baptisms in my family, and I loved every second of attending Olivia's baptism. Her is Olivia with her Daddy.

Stacey, Brett, and their kiddos: Olivia, Mallory, Kale, and Baby Sloan.

Brian, Gideon, and I with the newest member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints!!

 With Grandma and Grandpa Sandberg.

With everyone that attended. It was a beautiful day. We are SO SO SO proud of you, Olivia!!

Cool Kid

Brian was taking Gideon to Stacey's to spend a couple of hours, while I was at work. He turned around and saw this! Cutest. Kid. Ever. I love his desire to figure things out for himself, upside down and all. And that he wanted to be like daddy by wearing sunglasses.

Got Milk?

This little man was cooking with me tonight. He HATES milk and says "bleh" upon sight. Tonight though, he begged me for some of the cream I was using for the pasta sauce I was making. I figured, why not? I poured a tiny bit in a cup and this kid went to town.

He gobbled it right down and then asked for more and more and more. And it left him with an adorable mustache. Maybe it's cream they use for those "Got Milk?" advertisements??

General Conference Weekend

General Conference weekend is the BEST!! We had fun at home this weekend lounging in our p.j.'s while listening to all the amazing speakers. It was different to watch Conference while stacking blocks, coloring, reading books, etc. However, Gideon was totally listening because every time someone ended their talk he would say "Amen" and cheer!

On Saturday, after the two sessions, we used one of the gift cards I got and some Coldstone ice cream. Yummy!

Gideon was dying for some while we stood in line, so I got him a taster spoon. Best idea ever. That's what he used to eat the ice cream afterwards. It was serious business for this kiddo.

I had chocolate peanut butter and Brian had cheesecake. Gideon was eating my ice cream full force. Brian asked him if he wanted some of his and Gideon actually yelled "no!" I laughed inwardly. Then Brian headed off for the Priesthood session.

On Sunday, we lounged in our p.j.'s more and then headed out to Erin's house for dinner with our cousins. We ended the evening by taking a tour and having a wonderful visit with Uncle Pete and Aunt Gail.

My most favorite talk of all of Conference was Jeffrey R. Holland's. What an inspired message. I felt like he was talking just to me and loved watching the buzz on facebook about how other felt the same way. It was a life changing kind of talk. And so many other great messages were shared. It always goes by too fast. Here are some of the quotes I loved. I could put lots but I limited myself to three! You can find them at www.mycomputerismycanvas.com
