Preschool Easter Celebration

Today was Gideon's Easter celebration at preschool. I love his preschool! They always do such fun stuff for the holidays.

He is the cutest bunny EVER!! He was not so sure why he had to stand up there like that. And those ears...adorable.

They are off to find some Easter eggs and other prizes. Each child had a basket with a number and then they had to find only the prizes and eggs with that number.

At first they all grabbed whatever they could find but with some help from the teachers and parents, it eventually got sorted out. It's hard when you are little and the numbers go into the double digits!

I just couldn't stop taking pictures...those ears and baskets and adorableness.

Gideon loved he could be the Easter bunny in this picture. He kept going back to this and wanting his picture taken.

The real Easter bunny came too. Gideon talked and talked and talked to the Easter bunny. He touched his ears and asked him all sorts of questions about Easter day and eggs. But as soon as I took this picture, he acted like he wasn't quite sure about things. But let me tell you that was not the case.

At home, Gideon got right to work checking out his loot. Once all the eggs were emptied, he closed them up and opened them again. Over and over.

He organized all his treats on a plate. The only things he ate were the bracelet and the taffy. The rest he threw away. Smart boy!!

And here is the adorable song the kids sang to the parents!!

Car Wash

Gideon helped Daddy wash the car today. To say he loved it is an understatement! He wouldn't let Brian have the sprayer back for anything.

This video will show you how good Gideon is at washing the car. Don't mind Brian's foul language at the end. Gideon sprayed him good!

Trip to Idaho

We headed up to Idaho for the weekend to help surprise Brian's mom for her birthday! The whole family met at Sizzler in Idaho Falls and she was completely surprised and totally cried. Gideon got to meet and spend time with his brand new cousins. They are actually the children of his cousins, so whatever that makes them. We are sticking with cousin! Here he got to feed Daniel, Erika's baby, a bottle. He felt quite grown up.

We hung out with Grandma and Grandpa Morris in the luxury suite at their house. Really, Gideon slept in my bed and Gideon got a room to himself. I think we should switch next time!

This is how Gideon thinks you should eat a donut. Lick the sugar off the top, and when it won't all come off, take a bite. Once the sugar is gone, no more donut necessary. We had a great weekend!! Someday, I'll get better at taking pictures while on vacation.

Playing with Brooklyn

We were hanging out with Luke again today. When his sister, Brooklyn, got home she happily played with Gideon. There was much giggling!

I don't remember what it was called, but basically he ran around in circles while Brooklyn held his hands. He would fall but his feet would keep going. Hilarious! We were all well entertained.

Ducks and Rex's Birthday Party

Yay!! The ducks are back this year. We love them!! They quack and quack and quack at our back door until we come to feed them. And if we aren't home, they come running to us as we get out of the car.
Of course we always feed them. Maybe one day they will put their nest in our yard and we can enjoy the babies!

Then we headed to Jungle Jim's for Rex's birthday party! It was a superhero birthday party so batman was a must.
Rex's grandpa dressed up like Batman too. Gideon thought he was the real thing!! He begged me for a picture.
On top of pizza, tons of fun rides, cake and ice cream, there was also a pinata. Gideon's first one. He caught on really fast and was actually a natural at hitting it. That's my boy!! Thanks for the fun party, Rex!

New Playground!

We went to try out a new playground today. It's become our most favorite one ever!! It even has a fun splash pad. Our first visit was five hours long, that's how fun it is. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. If you feel jealous after looking at the pictures, let me know, and we'll meet up!!

Bunny in the backyard

Not the best picture but can you see the little brown bunny? S/he comes to visit us regularly. Along with a black and white one too. They come from our neighbors house. There is a missing board in the fence they come through. They let the bunnies free range all over the neighborhood. I only mind because they eat my garden. Grrrr! Gideon is completely convinced it is the Easter Bunny. And he turns into the big bunny that hides eggs only on Easter day. I just agree and tell him he is so smart!

St. Patrick's Day!

Santa brought us the IPAD for Christmas so we could facetime Grandma and Grandpa. Instead, it's been taken over by this kid. It's ALL he wants to do. It's a constant fight. And it makes him grouchy. I wish Santa would take it back.

Happy St. Patrick's day! Gideon went to preschool with his favorite green shirt! He came home with clovers and a lucky coin from an actual leprechaun!

This year I have officially decided to just stay away from corned beef for St. Patrick's day forever and ever. No matter what recipe I make, we just don't like it. Time to accept the fact and move onto rainbow food! Which sounds much more exciting anyways. This time I tried a corned beef casserole. We had to have a green veggie and Gideon picked asparagus. One of his most favorites.

And for dessert, mint chocolate chip cookies with green food coloring!

And the traditional p.j. picture. It's funny to me how much it annoys Brian. I have offered to buy him some too if he's jealous Gideon gets a new shirt and jammies. He declined.

This picture could not be left out! It shows Gideon's attitude perfectly!

Salt Lake Temple with the Young Women

I decided it was time to start sharing pictures of things we do in Young Women's. We have a TINY Young Women's group but we have a TON of fun! Today we went to the Salt Lake Temple to do Baptisms. I've been in this Temple, but never in the baptistry part. It is just as amazingly beautiful as the rest of the building. Those Pioneers really put their heart and soul into every teeny part.

Bedtime Shenanigans

Bedtime crazies continue around our house!! There are no words to describe this. Just watch it.

We headed up to Bountiful today to play with Lyla and Zoey, while Deborah and I chatted away. When Deborah was buying furniture, she got this car for a killer price. As you can see, it was loved by all!

But there was only so much room so we headed to the park. Lyla had to drive because Gideon wasn't exactly sure how to do it. Haha!

Oh look, Gideon's on his first date!!

Once outside he was determined to figure out the driving. And he got it, for the most part.

Or maybe I'm just too bossy? Or scared he's going to crash it and I'm going to have to buy one. Either way, this clip is pretty funny! Then we headed out for dinner, let the kids play, and talked up a storm. We finally headed home at bedtime. Thanks, Deborah for a fun day!

Finally...a little snow!

It's March and we finally got a second snow storm. And you know it's going to melt fast when you can play in it without a jacket. Or mittens.

We got out there as soon as we could and played away the afternoon. We went in once the snow was all melted.

New Car

Here's Brian's car that we've only owned for six years and barely paid off. It decided it was time to die and kept having problem after problem. And then the shop (that Brian works for so they are honest) figured out the engine needed some major overhauling. Like thousands of dollars for overhauling. So instead of fixing the car, we used that money for a down payment...

on this car... a Toyota Camry. Anyone else think he has similar taste in vehicles?? Though this one is much roomer. I'm so not looking forward to making car payments again. But at least Brian will make it to and from work everyday!

And why in the world does it take FOREVER to sign the paperwork?? First we had to wait 45 minutes just to get in to do the actual paperwork. And then over an hour to sign all the papers. I swear buying a house doesn't take this long.

Yay for play places to entertain Gideon!! He played his heart out on the pirate ship. And the tv was playing Mary Poppins which entertained me!

Sweetest Boy EVER!

Gideon begged and begged and begged for us to keep the minivan. He has never wanted something so much. I told him that Daddy and I didn't have enough money to buy the van. So today he's playing in the playroom and comes running upstairs so excited!! "Momma, look! I found lots of monies. Let's go buy the minivan!!" Oh, my sweet boy broke my heart. It's hard to explain tough concepts to such a sweet, innocent little guy.
