I'm trying to teach Gideon early how to do dishes. Problem is, he thinks he's just playing and forgets to use soap or misses spots.

And our tiny house doesn't really lend well to him being able to do dishes. He can't reach the deep sink with the step stool and the poor kid has to worry about balance the entire time he is doing dishes. Well, at least I tried.

Just another morning around here...

This is how our mornings usually go around here. Gideon plays some sort of electronic device while I make breakfast and get ready. I love how he crosses his legs. He needs something to set that Ipad against.

Then we go on our 5K walk along the canal with Mary, McKade, and baby Quincy. Last year when we were walking, Gideon and McKade happily stayed inside the strollers. We knew that couldn't last much longer. And now they run wild and free and complete most of the 5K on their own little feet.

And of course, there is always some cat snuggles. And yes, I didn't make Gideon get dressed. After walking, and showering, I got right back in my jammies. So there.

Riding bikes

When I became the Young Women's president, I inherited ALL the camping equipment. And I mean, ALL. There are a few items we also share, like a huge canopy we put picnic tables underneath while camping. Well, the Young Men borrowed it for their camp and Johnny came over to return it. Gideon beggedJohnny to ride bikes with him. Gideon rode his beloved four wheeler, while Johnny and Daddy did their best on the other tiny bikes. Gideon was in heaven!!

Check out THIS mailbox!

Almost two years ago, Brian started working on this mailbox. It was an auction item for the Scout fundraiser at our church. It was bought but still needed to be finished. He would go through these spurts where he would work on it a bunch, and then forget about it for awhile. But at last, it is finished and fantastic!!! He hand crafted the Snoopy on top - now that's some crazy good skills, don't you agree? I hope this box brings a smile to the mailman!

All Dressed!

Gideon got himself dressed today! He has his favorite tank top, his favorite pants, and he couldn't decide which favorite shoes to wear, so he problem solved and worn one of each shoe! Smarty! And I let him go like that all day long because it was too adorable to stop. But we really are going to have to talk about matching and what clothes go good together. Hahaha!!

We went to hang out with our cousins today and headed out to the nearby park. Gideon plays forever longer when he has someone to play with. Love it! They climbed towers, ran after each other, tried out all the slides both up and down, attempted the monkey bars, and showed me the "slimy" lake.

Mallory pushed Gideon on the swings FOREVER. She never even asked if he was done, she just kept pushing and pushing and pushing until he asked to get off. Now that's cousin love! Thanks for playing with us, Hansen kiddos!

Our friend, Zuri

When I worked at Early Head Start, I had a co-worker named Zildy. We ended up living one street over from each other. Now here it is, years later, and sometimes her little girl, Zuri, comes to spend the day with us. At first Gideon wasn't so sure and wouldn't share anything. Now he loves her coming over and shares everything. They are the cutest of friends!

Bikin' It!

Gideon LOVES this bike. Problem is, he has grown much too big for it. It's hard for him to cruise around crazy fast and fun when his long legs keep getting in the way. I really think I could find another one that is bigger for him. I just have no idea what to search for on the internet to find one. But he loves it so much that he just keeps riding it. Wrecking his shoes and popping a wheelie when he doesn't get his feet off the ground in time. to search? How to search?

Mallory's Baptism

Gideon loving on his Uncle Greg some more. Greg likes to play rough and Gideon LOVES it!

Hopefully Greg didn't go home and need some chiropractic work after all the times Gideon jumped on him.
Maybe they are settling down...maybe just long enough for a picture?

The BEST part of today, is that Mallory choose to be baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints!! Her mom made her a special dress for today. Doesn't she look beautiful?

Mallory with her whole family!

Gideon getting some cousin love! You would think this kid loves to be loved. Oh wait, he really does.

Grandma and Grandpa with Mallory, the newest baptized member of the family!

We were finishing cleaning up and this line naturally started to happen. Some more people joined and what you see is what you get.

This picture is priceless. I have no words. Only a lot of feelings. Look how Gideon is looking up at Xander. That perfect hand holding. Speechless.

Back at Stacey's the kids crafted up a storm. Eventually the boys got bored of crafting...

And turned to video game playing.

Mallory is always so sweet to Gideon. They are completely snuggled up, playing a game together. Love! We are so proud of you, Mallory, for choosing to be baptized!!

Family in town = PARTY

We went over to visit Uncle Wally today. The kids headed outside to play where Gideon conquered every single dandelion he could find.

My dad is seriously the BEST Grandpa EVER! He stayed outside with the kids, playing their games, going to walks, carrying Gideon and showing him all sorts of treasures. Gideon told me he wishes he could spend every day with Grandpa Sandberg!

Gideon also LOVED spending time with his name sake, Uncle Greg. He told him all sorts of stories as he talked and talked and talked.

The Ehlert's joined too and played some serious card games.

Russel and Kale were great buddies! They asked me to take their picture. Cute!

The trampoline was a huge hit until a ball went over the fence!

Good thing we don't enforce a child limit on the trampoline. They LOVED being on there together!

Time for dinner. We kicked all the kids outside. This is how I found them eating. So fun to be a kid!

For Easter, Stacey, had bought some stretchy bunnies. They worked similar to an elastic. There was a massive fight with bunnies flinging everywhere, people ducking out of the way, new hiding spots being discovered, and a lot of laughing.

Fireplace and Bubbles

We went to lunch today with Grandma, Grandpa, Gail, Pete, and Grandma's college roommate. Gideon really, really wanted a picture by this fireplace. He really wanted to eat his lunch by the fireplace too. He now wants to be called Batman all the time!

Once we got home, we busted out the bubbles from Easter and had some crazy bubble fun!

Fun with Family!

Grandma and Grandpa came to visit. We headed up to Cabella's to look for hiking boots for Grandpa and check out all the animals. The kids snuggled with Grandma for a while.

Then we headed down to Provo to where Brett's dad works. We got to see all the amazing plants and flowers growing in a million different rooms. This room is the kid's favorite. It's a little jungle with benches and a waterfall.

Gideon and Kale hanging out while looking for snakes or bugs or huge butterflies. None of which are in the room.

And Grandpa getting some grandkid love!!

When we got outside, the boys ran right over to this "bench" and snuggled. They were sad we were leaving separately! We love being with family!!

Brian bugged me for YEARS when we were first married that everyone had a favorite car. I said I did not have a favorite car. Cars were just cars and I only knew how to tell the difference from car, SUV, truck, van, etc.

Until one day. I was driving to the store and saw a car I completely LOVED! Loved so much I followed the car, instead of going to the store, to find out what kind it was. I was excited to tell Brian I finally had a favorite car! I saw the word Bentley and gave Brian a call. He laughed and said, "Of course you'd love the most expensive car!"

A few weeks later I saw another car I LOVED. I don't notice cars, so this double sighting was a rare thing for me. I weaved through a few other cars until I could see what kind of car it was. Another Bentley!! Yup, I have expensive taste I guess.

This car was in Brian's shop at work. He texted me the picture. I asked him if he bought it for me. It's a pretty sweet car if you ask me!

Happy Easter!!

This is totally not Easter related, but I need to keep this picture to show proof of how awful our backyard is. I have spent the last two springs literally hand digging out the millions of burrs in our backyard. The first year to the second was a drastic improvement. Next spring (2016) we will finally put in the grass and finish the yard. Now on to Easter.

It's finally Easter. Gideon has been so excited for the bunnies, that come in our backyard, to turn into the real Easter Bunny and bring us eggs to hunt. Today, his dreams came true.

He was a pro at finding eggs. He would see one and run directly to it. Often missing other eggs along the way. The Easter Bunny also left him some presents. Totally spoiled, just like it should be!

Here are a couple videos just to show Gideon's excitement and his cute little voice!!

He got right to business and tried out his wiggle car. No matter what we told him, he would not put his feet on it and wiggle. He pushed with his feet instead.

All dressed up for church. This picture was actually taken the following Sunday since Easter fell on General Conference. But, it's not the date that matters. Just his cuteness. He would not cooperate. At all! Enjoy all his silly faces though!

Later that night, Ben and Rebekah joined us for dinner. Gideon wanted to race Ben. Gideon had to keep waiting for Ben who got the wiggle car. Gideon kept saying, "Ben, this is a race!"

But they got the hang of it. And raced several more times. We love having them over...especially Gideon.

Brian took them back to BYU and I did the dishes. I had to take this picture because the sight of this table made me feel a little sad. Not that I love dishes or anything, I just always thought my house would look like this after every meal. It's the littlest, craziest things that bring that infertility pang. Then I got over it and did the dishes.

And Gideon came home completely crashed from all the fun. I love a no fight to sleep night. Perfect ending to a great Easter!!
